Only Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) succeeded in entering the aforementioned ranking by taking its well-deserved place  within  the 801-1000 band.

In the list featuring a total of 1,527 universities, Eastern Mediterranean University shared the same rank with Istanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University and Istanbul University after Bilkent University, Boğaziçi University and Özyeğin University. A total of 44 universities from Turkey made it to the said list, but only 11 of them have been ranked amongst the first thousand. As per the island of Cyprus, three universities from South Cyprus and only EMU from the TRNC appeared on the list.
