The students who will register to Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) at 2020-2021 Academic Year
will be able to benefit from a number of opportunities that are provided by the government. Within the
context of the project titled “Student Friendly Island” that is put into practice by the Turkish Republic of
Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ministry of National Education and Culture, all students will be provided with a
debit card. The students will be able to shop contact free with this debit card and also will be able to
withdraw cash from all over the world. The debit card will have a specialty to be integrated with other
desired debit cards and will include a software where students can track their financial activity. By this
means, the students will be able to shop inside and outside of the campus. The students who use this
card that is provided by the TRNC government will be able to benefit from discount opportunities.
Additionally, the government will transfer 500 TL support to the subjected debit cards of new students
who will register to EMU and other universities in our country at the 2020-2021 Academic Year.
PCR Test At Entry
According to the statement by TRNC Ministry of Health, the ministry will provide one free of charge PCR
Test at the Ercan Airport for the students who will arrive to the island as from 1st September 2020. The
students will be able to enter to TRNC after taking the test.
